Overview

Add a must-have bass amp combo to your studio

The Ampeg B-15N has practically defined the sound of electric bass. You’ve heard it on countless hit records for generations, from Motown cuts with James Jamerson to classic Stax records with Donald “Duck” Dunn and beyond. This 30-watt, 15” all-tube bass amp is filled with character. It delivers the thick fundamental tone that’s been responsible for huge bass sounds on records from the '60s up until today.

Get two iconic Ampeg bass tones in one

Based on the limited edition Ampeg “Heritage” B-15N, the B-15N plugin replicates the classic sounds of the 1964 and 1966 models at their best. The 1964 circuit features a 25-watt cathode-biased design, delivering a soft and gentle feel. In contrast, the 1966 option uses a 30-watt, fixed-biased circuit, offering a more assertive tone with increased headroom and midrange. Drive the amp less forcefully for a thick and smoky tone, or crank it up for a roaring growl that’s rich with harmonics and grit.

Make your bass sound rich, beefy, and warm

Brainworx has expertly recreated the Ampeg B-15N's authentic tone, mirroring its unique dual 6L6-powered circuit and Baxandall EQ. The result is a rich, beefy sound that faithfully reproduces the classic bass tones heard in countless records. Its depth and warmth make it a reliable bass amp plugin in various recording and mixing situations.

Unlock the power of a Brainworx FX rack

A built-in Brainworx FX rack lets you refine your sound with precision. This rack hosts a noise gate, Power Soak feature, and pre/post switchable high-pass and low-pass filters. You can also use this rack to control an exacting cabinet emulation.

My go-to studio amp is my Ampeg Heritage B-15N, so I’m very familiar with it. This plugin captures it beautifully. It’s a fantastic mix tool.

Perfect for solid, sit-in-the-mix bass, including some serious attitude if wanted. But its not the in-your-face-epic-huge sound of the SVT-VR and SVT-3. For me that makes B-15N a really nice… Read More
