Overview

Get the sound of Ampeg’s towering 300-watt bass amplifier

The legendary SVT bass amp came from Ampeg’s ambition to create the “biggest, nastiest bass amplifier the world has ever seen.” That mission was a resounding success, and the SVT-VR has proven itself repeatedly with unrivaled power to create weighty tones. The Ampeg SVT-VR plugin delivers the sound of the hardware in your digital audio workstation (DAW).

Recapture some of the most coveted bass tones in history

The Ampeg SVT has probably been heard on more hit records and significant stadium tours than any other bass amp. Join the ranks of Bootsy Collins, Darryl Jones, Michael Bradford, Chris Wyse, and thousands of other world-class bassists who have relied on the SVT-VR for decades. With its roaring bottom, punchy mids, and pleasant highs, the SVT-VR plugin contains all the raw energy and punchiness of the hardware.

Add massive and focused low-end to your mix

Featuring six 6550 power tubes and an 8x10 speaker cabinet, the original SVT amp quickly became the go-to choice for filling venues and studios with massive, focused low-end. The SVT-VR plugin recreates the original hardware's preamp, power section, bass cabinet, and iconic rocker switches to offer the same signal path, tone, and vibe.

Unlock the power of a Brainworx FX rack

In addition to faithfully recreating the three-band EQ on Channel One and two-band EQ on Channel Two, the SVT-VR plugin includes a Brainworx FX rack. This rack hosts a noise gate, Power Soak feature, and pre/post switchable high-pass and low-pass filters. The added rack also includes a collection of recording chains crafted through a Neve console using classic vintage mics, cabinets, and boutique outboard gear.
