My name is Andre, I am the social media manager at Plugin Alliance, this was actually the first time I ever attended NAMM so as you can expect I was super excited to see what it was all about.

2019 NAMM marked another year for us at what is the world’s largest trade-only event for the music products, pro audio and event tech industry. One of the things that really struck me as we arrived was the sheer size of the event itself, not to mention the variety of gear, music genres, artists, you name it. NAMM is truly a place to get inspired, network and showcase new technologies. I pretty much walked about 15km each day, which definitely helped burn off all the awesome food they had to offer at the event. Throughout all the excitement and busyness, I tried capturing as many photos as I possibly could, and I've uploaded some for this blog.

This year we hosted a booth and we certainly had a lot of people stop by and talk plugins with us. A lot of fun! We were situated right opposite Avid, and it was great to see our plugins being used in their demonstrations.

Another highlight was that the majority of our partners partook in the event as well. A personal highlight for me was the Dear Reality booth which was shared with Sennheiser. This was also one of the biggest booths at the event, with its own section for virtual reality audio mixing presented by Dear Reality of course, as well as a stage with live performers. It was impressive to see so many people trying out the approach of mixing spatial audio in VR.

We also took the time to meet up with our friend Tom Holkenborg (Junkie XL) at the Orchestral Tools booth as he was doing a live Q&A about his upcoming Brass library. I had the privilege meeting Tom the next day as well, as we hosted a special event at Sphere Studios in LA showcasing our new virtual instruments.

As I mentioned NAMM is a great place to talk about future technologies, and this is exactly what the boys at Unfiltered Audio brought to the table with a new synthesizer which we’ll be launching in the near future.

Below is a great shot of Dave Pensado & Dirk shortly after a presentation of Pensado’s Place. Needless to say when they get together many funny and interesting story’s are shared.

All in all it was an incredible journey, and speaking on behalf of all of us, we can’t wait for the next one! In the meantime, I’ll leave you with the official after movie of our time there. Looking forward to NAMM show 2020.
