  • I can't do without it anymore

I've been dealing with music and mix for about thirty years, I can't say that I don't know plugins and daws enough to be able to express a conscious and mature opinion, something is learned over time.
I own other emulations of channel strip ssl, I don't mention the brands, we know them all, but today I can say that for the first time I tried the beautiful feeling of opening a plugin and saying "wow, this sound makes me hear something new, what it should be... it's not the usual, what's going on?".
I delve into the issue by immediately inserting it into a rather busy mix session and difficult to deal with due to the sources that are not easy at the source. Well, now I can really say that this tool puts in the hands, of those who know what to get, everything they need to produce a mix of great impact and consistency.
In order of appearance I want to praise the sound of the filters and the compressor that manages to treat even very dynamic material with an disarming naturalness, with few mouse movements and without wasting time, the sound is there, ready and served. Attack and release options are at the service of musicality, without a harrow.
The eq sounds simply spectacular, musical and, if needed, drastic with a few movements, during the mix it is difficult not to feel it return what you are looking for, even a minimal shift of dB serves to give the right tone that goes from correction to the most extreme creativity. I read that some would have defined it in some traits more harsh than the 4000e, personally I have not made comparisons, I limit myself to commenting that the result obtained with the 4000g is perfect and without frills. The Pink knob mode is the one that I use by default, beautiful, decisive and with a nice weight on the bass and a nice character of the medium-highs, every conscious change returns an always optimal and immediate result, if you need airy highs you get them, mediums more calibrated? Here they are, more incisive, the same.
By activating the plugin, even without modifications, the sound is enriched by already very nice basic harmonics, if you want you can add more with the THD knob and with the input control, in any case they depend on the compression and eq module that must remain on so as not to disable such harmonics.
I would like Brainworks to be able to make the input metering dependent on the input knob, it would be much more useful to adjust the gain staging, unfortunately this is not possible even on the Lindell 80series (also another great tool).
The final balance of my review is completely positive, I can only recommend this plugin to anyone who wants an effective tool with a nice weight and sound depth worthy of serious attention.
    Thank you Plugin-alliance ;)

I used this on mixes for the last couple of years. Absolutely superb. I love the THD saturation and the compressor. I won't launch into silly reasoning as to why I love it since it's a highly subjective matter.

Great console , I think this is one of the best SSL emulations on the VST market!

It's just a great model of the SSL sonic characteristics from a G channel. Less crunchy than the E channel. Less distortion. Still more distortion than the J console. It's somewhat in the middle. It has it's own tone. But it's still clean and punchy enough for modern mixes.

It's got that smack that I love about SSLs, a little cleaner, with a little spikier transients than the E. I especially like the TMT. Very CPU friendly. Not crazy about the rotary knobs, though. And I find it adds a little too much mud, once you dig in for a little more coloration.

My plugin for guitars, it just sounds really great! if you want that heavy and powerful in your guitars use this amazing EQ, there is no way a guitar sounds bad with this plugin, this EQ trasform all guitar sounds in gold guitars sound, I like this model maybe a little bit more than E but is my personal taste but any of this model of SSL is vital in your arsenal.

I think this Console will turn your mixes completely and it'll make your music sound alive.
I really love the sound from this strips. It's a console that you must have. One of my favorite functions from this one, is that make your mix sound glue.
The best way to use it is use the EQ and then put a SSL G-comp.
