  • Master bus, meet your new best friend

The subject says it all. I'm pretty sure this is going to have a permanent place on the master bus of my tracks, not to mention having many other great use cases.
Like everyone is saying, you can get some very musical settings that sound extremely natural and transparent. It has so many extra features and the UI is inspiring--it feels like you're using a well-thought-out piece of hardware, but it offers a level of convenience and integration that goes beyond hardware.

My first thoughts were, "Yet another EQ. Hmm..."
When I tried it out though, I soon discovered this is something special both in sound quality and features. It has already become a go-to for my mastering work and is destined to have a prominent position in my mixes too.
The GUI is full of practical and useful tools while remaining intuitive and quick to use, the sound is both transparent and rich and it works equally well subtly or dramatically.
    In short, I LOVE this!

This EQ sounds amazing! A very modern and clean EQ, that gives my tracks the finished pro sound! I'm a massive fan of the Massenburg hardware EQ's, so it's great to see a Massenburg inspired EQ with new features. I love the PA plugins that have the auto-listen! It's a game changing feature.

  • Great master eq

I use it for mastering along the UAD Manley and the pricey softube Weiss (which I regret buying to be honest, I should have gone for the ProQ3, which is way more precise and doesn't have a GPU hungry gui like the Weiss). It's a very precise eq and it can also bring some nice colors when using THD control. I really like the hi and low shelves on this, really accurate and fierce.
  • So good

This is such a welcomed addition to the PA suite. Love everything about it, but aside from the sound, which I will get to in a minute, the layout and feature set are so intuitive and music-centric. I just find it so easy to get good results. So, I have a few other plugins that do Sontec/GML emulations, but so far, this one feels the most musical and believable to me. I don't have a real version of either one, but this thing just sounds "good". As a tool, what more could you ask for! Soundwise: I'm finding the Q-factor to be one of the best parts of this plugin. I can really hear the Q widening and narrowing much more noticeably and helpfully than with a lot of other software emus. Tonally, I usually hate plugins or at least find them difficult to work with, but this one sounds great! Not sure what they did but... It works! So the low end is very useable without ever getting boomy. In mastering, 1db shelf boosts to 80hz or whatever really add some weight without gumming things up. The filters sound great! Tightening up the low end was never easier. I like boosting air and filtering the top end to compensate for harshness. The midrange is great, 800hz is a special area and sounds great here. Mono-maker in the same plugin? Super cool! Use that all the time. I like it better than high-passing the sides. You don't lose energy. The stereo width thing even sounds great. Sometimes those suck. This one works! 5% or 10% max stereo width boost sometimes and all of a sudden you have a different soundscape that often works wonders on narrow mixes. I like the options for half-range boost/cut and the invert button is cool as a tool, although mentally it weirds me out sometimes. I usually just prefer to sweep boost/cut up or down after finding a problem frequency or a sweetening zone. I gave it a couple of weeks of use to decide but this one is staying in the chain! I thought about buying a GML 8200 and someday I might but with all the stories of poorly matched pots and difficult level matching I would rather just stick to plugins for solid state EQ duties. I really really like it. Thank you guys!
  • Mindblowing stuff right here

I never review stuff, I don't really bother to do it, but this time, I have to, I just do. This EQ here is something else, it's the foundation of your Mix Bus. Before I start any mix job, I always do my mix Bus chain using the FabFilter Pro C2, and SSL G comp for the 1 db needle movement and then I add an EQ. I tried at least 5 Eqs during the way, and I was never completely satisfied with them, the closest one to my desire was the Acustica Diamond 3, but once I tried this AMEK 200 here...OH my God, what have you done guys. It sounds extremely open but not as a widener would do (although you get the option, but I am taling about HQ open sound feeling), it clears the fog on the high spectrum and it gets so warm, round but not too vintage like in the bass mid bass region. Mid frequencies are top notch, not a sign of ear fatiguing. Just take it. I would have never spent 399$ for a plugin, and I wasn't thinking to spend 199$ (that was the offer) either for a single unit, but after I demoed it I just did it, straight away. Well done. And thank you for the DSP stuff, very well done
