    HG-2 is the only plugin I use for tube-esq saturation now. The sound is obviously superb, the GUI is inviting, it's responsive and also quite versatile considering the few controls on the panel. Actually, the slightly hidden controls at the top of the GUI (calibration, density and mix) are often the most useful for getting the material to sit where you want it to.
    It's a really tight sounding box! Sounds great on everything.

    It took me about 5 seconds to fall in love with this plugin. It adds a wonderful warmth to a mix, and has a pretty wide range from subtle harmonics to crunch.
    Preserves dynamics wonderfully.
    Plugins are meant to make your music sound better, this one really does.

    At first I was thinking that I didn't need the HG-2. After all I have several distortion/saturation plugins already. With Decapitator being so similar, there seemed to be no need to add another one to my hard drive. A friend convinced me that I should reconsider my assumption and so I picked up the Black Box on sale. He was right. There's nothing better to use for mastering or bus saturation than this plugin. It has it's own vibe and a unique way of adding pentode/triode combinations that will optimize that thick, analog goodness that digital recordings need. This is now my 2nd favorite PA plugin... right after the BX_Console E.
