  • It's always on my output bus

This product is always on my main output channel, no matter what. Firstly, it makes sure I do not exceed the desired peak ( I usually set it to -1.0 dB). But then you can push the distortion level and get a sweet glue to your mix, and you can also push the low end just enough to get your balance just right. If you want your mix to be louder, you can push the gain while still ensuring you don't exceed peak, and you get a nice inflation of your mix to bring out every instrument. It lets you attain LUFS as loud as you want. Perfect for a loud metal mix, but you can also finely tune better dynamics while still bringing out every track on more dynamic and delicate mixes. You also get a mono maker below a certain frequency that you can adjust to make sure your bass is centered. You get stereo enhancement, with the added ability to make adjustments in the M/S domain. This is an invaluable tool for mastering, a tool you will use every time on every song of every genre. Get your mix or master always right; get this bx_XL B3. It's terrific.

I almost don't want to write a review cos I want this to stay slept on lol, This right here combined with the silver bullet MKII is just key to that mythical "analog" sound. I don't even master anymore because between this on the master bus and True peak on sub busses I have all the detail, loudness and dynamic retention. PA is wild.

The number of knobs has not changed that much from bx_XL V2, but the sound quality is far better.
There are many presets available, and they are clearly divided into mono high, mono mid, and stereo, making it very easy to use.
I always plug it in when mastering.
