Species is the type of plugin I've been looking for for a very long time it's not so much what it does but more like what it doesn't do ..i use it for everything on anything I can just pop one in and creating basically anything I hear in my head .. Well worth the money

No doubt it is a beast! To me, spectral effects are great for shredding generic sounds into something interesting and also amazing for transitional effects from section to section in a song. It's far more than just an electronic music tool now as so many of these effects are being used in other styles.

This is most and exciting and more importantly, inspiring effect plugin I've used in a very long time. I can lose hours in this thing! It comes with a good selection of presets that show off it's capabilities and as it's very 'source' dependant, you can get vastly different results from each preset depending on what you feed it. But the real fun is in getting to know this thing and creating your own patches. What makes it stand out from the crowd is the ability to freeze and stretch your sound or just applying different variations for up to 3 different frequency bands. And then there's the modulation capabilities which are awesome and so well implemented. I like my sounds to change in rhythm so the 'step sequencer' and 'envelope follower' mods are perfect for this. So it's 5 stars all the way for this one. Not only is it a great multi-effect in it's own right but it can breathe new life into other instruments too.
