My first impression is excellent. The whole sound is fat and unique, it fills a niche that I have been searching for in software synthesizers. It has quickly become a must have in my studio set-up. I especially appreciate the Granular and Glitch modes in LION, Unfiltered Audio is way ahead of the game.

Less software and much more like having patch cables around your neck and a couple of hundred modules. LION deserves its name because it's truly the Lion of Synthesizers. When I got the chance to test it, I was instantly impressed by just clicking thru the Presets. Right after that I started making my own sounds and ended up with the craziest modular noises and synthlines I ever did with a software synthesizer. The possibilities are endless and the routing is very intuitive, as the GUI is very simple and attracting at the same time. What a powerhouse!

I'm usually kind of skeptical with new soft synths and mostly use external sources for synth sounds. But I gave LION a try and I have to say that this thing is a monster. Don´t expect any “normal” or common sound creations, it's rich of textures, modulations possibilities and weird, sick stuff. It doesn´t sound like "another plugin" synthesizer. Also, the presets are great, I am not a preset guy but there are lots of really good sounds already. Diving into it and creating your own sounds makes it even more exciting. I easily managed to come up with lots of new sounds after a short time.
