FreqTube FT1-EMU

Hybrid done right

FreqTube FT1-EMU is a circuit-accurate analog tube saturation plugin that brings the sound and behavior of real tube hardware directly into your DAW.

Developed from a component-level circuit model based on a SPICE reference simulation of the original FreqTube FT1 hardware, the plugin recreates the nonlinear response, harmonic richness, and dynamic interaction of a real analog tube signal path.

FT1-EMU is the first plugin platform designed to move between circuit-accurate software emulation and real analog hardware processing within the same DAW session — with a single click.

Explore freely, commit only when it matters

Run FT1-EMU entirely in-the-box to add authentic tube tone across your mix. Then, whenever you’re ready, you can expand your setup by connecting the real FreqTube FT1 hardware and switch instantly from software emulation to true analog tube processing — using the same plugin, controls, and session.

This hybrid workflow gives producers and engineers the flexibility of modern digital production today, with a natural path to real analog hardware whenever they choose.

Who it is for

ITB Producers & Mix Engineers: Add authentic analog tube character directly inside your DAW while keeping full automation, recall, and session flexibility.

Hybrid studio workflows: Mix and shape tone in software across your entire session, then switch key tracks to real analog processing when it matters.

Mobile and remote production: Work anywhere — on the road, in temporary studios, or across multiple systems — without needing hardware connected at all times.

Analog enthusiasts who want flexibility: Audition tone, experiment freely, and commit to real analog hardware only when you choose.

Hardware users tired of patching and printing: Eliminate re-patching, session rebuilding, and manual recall by controlling hardware processing directly from the plugin.

How the hardware integration works

FT1-EMU seamlessly connects to the real FreqTube FT1 hardware, allowing the plugin to switch instantly from software emulation to true analog tube processing. The same plugin, the same controls, the same session — now routed through real analog circuitry.

Real tube signal path

When connected to the FreqTube FT1 hardware, audio is routed through four real analog tube channels with selectable tube types, processed entirely in the analog domain before returning to your DAW.

Bit-perfect DAW integration

Audio is streamed between your DAW and the FT1 hardware at high resolution with ultra-low latency, preserving timing, dynamics, and tone. Hardware processing is fully recallable inside your DAW session.

Unified control surface

All hardware processing is controlled directly from the FT1-EMU plugin interface. Adjust drive, harmonics, filters, and signal flow exactly as in software — with the sound of real analog hardware.
