mono upmix★★★★☆Love this...sounds great....wish it was less of a cpu hog.
Prefer this to put an instrument in a 'space' than reverb.
If it didn't make my system lag and mess up I'd give it 5 stars.....but.
It's awesome★★★★★I never had any regrets about PA plugins, and this is not the exclusion. Mono Upmix works just like magic, making a beautiful stereo picture from mono source(s) with a correct phase in just a few clicks. Love it.
SCHOEPS Mono Upmix★★★★★Good, very good, good friend of mine.
A great buddy to bx_stereomaker★★★★★PA is right, this plugin is similar to what you do with bx_stereomaker, but it sounds very different as it seems to achieve its sounds in a slightly (or totally?) different way.
The Schoeps sounds very nice on vocals and strings and piano, whereas the bx is performing better on short percussive signals.
I needed and will use both. ;-)
A Great 1st from Schoeps★★★★★A quick test on layered strings recorded in the same room by same players/position and microphones made me fall in love with it. Some of the sessions i deal with in NYC are done fast, real fast. And this plug-in helps resolve some issues come mix time.
It also helped with a solo violin piece recorded in a synagogue in Queens, NY. 5 mics, close (mono-wide cardioid), mid (stereo-omni), far (stereo-omni). When blended, the mono mic sounded, well, "too mono" for lack of better description. And when i played around with the plug-in, in 30 seconds, i got the desired result.
Looking forward to using in different situations real soon! This is better than (artificial) reverb if you're looking to enhance the space around the source, granted it was recorded well in a decent space... THANK YOU!Plugin Alliance responseThanks for the awesome review!
Mono Upmix★★★★★This works well with ambience , creates a realistic stereo picture that doesn't sound phase-y like other stereo making tools.
Really useful for live recordings with ambience mics that are not in the right place !
Mono Upmix★★★★☆Great and simple to use. Schoeps Mono Upmix helps adding depth to a mix without adding phase junk.
I would have given 5 stars for the audio result, but the GUI is lacking one very important contemporary feature: Let me just grab this red dot and move it around! But instead of following my intuition (that's what minimum-knob/fader-plugins are made for), I have to grab and move virtual faders?... C'mon, we're approaching 2019!
Otherwise, great tool!
