Mix & mastering engineer (Shiva, Capo Plaza, Vegas Jones)

I'm a ITB guy, and one of the only pieces of gear that I really enjoyed using it hardware was the API 2500, so big and punchy.

I tried various kinds of emulations and some had the right punch that reminded me of the analog unit but missed the body of it, while others had the body but not the punch.

The Lindell SBC has both, especially when the SMASH mode is on, when I engaged it I immediately said "Here it is!".

The Sidechain option is amazing too, having the possibility to sidechain the low end and compress a bit harder for really take out that API punch without pumping the low end is amazing.

If you love the API 2500 there is no doubt that you will fall in love with the Lindell SBC, it sounds big and punchy

I've been waiting for this one! That signature aggressive sound with the flexibility of the Thrust circuit makes this piece a standout. Don't sleep on the differences between the feed-back versus feed-forward portion of the circuit as well.

The real test for me with any API circuit is how it behaves with transients, and in particular, Kick and Snare drums. With any new version of a classic piece, especially a piece that has already been built as plugin by established companies, is aside from a faithful sound, are there nuances that make it unique, and more usable than what came before.

From the ground up this unit is designed to give the user this ideal experience whereby it is at once familiar and yet somehow special. Here the added features make this the Must-Have version of this compressor.

Better than the original, BY A LOT.

The Lindell Audio SBC delivers all you’d expect from this classic with accuracy and conviction. The SMASH feature on a parallel drum bus takes things to a whole new level, while more traditional settings faithfully nail the analog punch of its hardware sibling. All in all this is an extremely effective, versatile tone box across a variety of sources in any mix.

The cool thing about this plugin is that it goes further than the traditional hardware can do, especially the parallel mix and SMASH functions are great, this makes it much wider deployable and even enhances your creativity.

This thing is instant punch! I threw it on my drum buss and they jumped out of my speakers. It’s a great sounding compressor with a lot of tone control and a ton of attitude.

Every engineer needs some API style goodness in their tool box. The Lindell SBC delivers all that, and adds the most awesome "SMASH"  &  parallel mix features. Used properly, this can really make things pop in a track. Warm, yet in your face in the best way!
