  • The Channel Strip for people who don't like channel strips

    by midmodman
I don't particularly like channel strip plugins. I understand that they attempt to emulate an experience for audio engineers who are used to that type of workflow, but I have always found them constricting. THIS one, however, struck me differently. I ended up with 2 of the 3 components through sale prices before I demo'd it, and fell in love with the character and the sound out of the gate (no pun intended). I have other Pulteq/1176/610 type emulations, but this is my new favorite by far. Surprised at how much I enjoy and employ moving the elements around in the chain. It just "gets" me.
Also, thanks to the sale prices, I got this all together for less than $50. SO happy with that. Compared to the other channel strip emulations here (and elsewhere) that I have tried, this is hands-down my favorite.

I bought all the Lindell components separately but didn't have this rack to make them a channel strip. Thanks PluginAlliance for giving me Channel X for free.

This plugin does amazing job with punch and clarity. The idea to save presets in one shoot and switching the routing of its devices makes it an irreplaceable tool for mixing.
  • Lindell ChannelX

A very smooth, flexible, intuitive and easy to use high quality plugin. I find myself using this channel strip more frequently on a variety of projects and have even used it to replace other plugins on older projects that were deemed finished. I can achieve a subtle rich warmth with this combination of Pre-amp, Compressor and EQ without having to try very hard.
Having all three elements contained in one insert window coupled with the ability to place them in any order is a real bonus, it results in quicker setup time and tweaking is made easier as everything is right there in front of you.
    A pleasure to use!
  • Lindell Audio ChannelX

    by Reece Reser
I love Lindell Audio products, I am constantly reaching for the 7x-500, or the PEX-500, or the 6X-500 or any combination for almost every track in a mix. I actually started with just the 7x-500 and loved it. It was my first Lindell purchase, then came the eq, which is one of my go to plugins. I should have purchased the ChannelX bundle right off the bat!! I do indie/americana music, so tend to lean to plugins that aren't totally transparent and add some analog feel to my tracks. The channelX is perfect because it has 3 of my favorite analog modeled plugins in one instantiation, boom, it makes tweaking so fast with 3 plugins right there. It hands down is my favorite for vocals, it just adds so much of the sound I am looking for. Down load the trial and see for yourself how great this setup really is, you won't be disappointed!

After using the 3 Lindell plugins individually for a while being able to use all 3 of them in one plugin slot is great. The fact that you can have any combination is just a bonus (EQ-Compression, Compression-EQ).
I use at least one of the plugins in most of my mixes and reckon that having the Channel X will mean I'll use all of them more of the time, which won't be a bad thing at al!!
