Didn't think I needed another compressor, but after comparing it to others I had to buy it. Makes my drums so much richer and fuller while it keeps good detail in the transients.

I've tried/used this on three sessions since I got it, one of which was done. One session with a competitor's Helios emu (with Pie compressor), one with PIA's SSL Console and one with PIA's N Console on every track. The new Townhouse Buss Compressor worked very well with each.
I tried each one with and without the Mastering Desk behind it in a "Mastering" track. They paired up very well. I had been using the VSC2 or the Alpha most of the time, sending it into one of a few Limiters from there. Sometimes the XL V2 or one of several competitors' limiters. The Townhouse and Mastering Desk combination is very quick and effective compared to anything else I've used. I can get to that 99% point in just a few minutes. (fwiw - Note that all three sessions I used it on were early 1970's style efforts, and I say all of this without any experience on the analog gear they emulate.)

This compressor is a beast! Love the weight and color it provides to the drum bus or even mixbus!

This is the best buss comp I've tried so far. I have demoed A/B'd several over the years. I like this better the Cytomic, Waves SSL Comp, etc. Prior to this I was using Logic's SSL comp (which is just as good as the Waves SSL comp) and Waves' Kramer PIE comp (which sounds great when set lightly to get 1-2 dB of comp). The bx_townhouse is similar to the PIE in terms of adding vintage character, except it does a superior job of managing the transients and low end. It also has a nicer overall 'shine' to it.

This is a Slampin Bus Compressor! Let me tell you, this thing adds thickness and clarity. It really does give your Mix that liveliness you're looking for. Very warm and smooth sounding. Great for Master bus Compression! It will add warmth to your vox and smooth out your bass and Drums. Buy it!
