No words can describe the new Brainworx console SSL9000J, just listen! This to me is real analog warmth and smooth EQ-ing. I think this is the start of a new generation of real analog sound in your all digital domain. I own quite a few of the other console emulations of Brainworx. For example I still love the old bx_console N for it's total, coming together sound when I put in on the masterbus with just a bit of compression, slight boost of 12kHz and 50 Hz. Also the Focusrite SC has become one of my favourites lately to put on every single channel: lots of ways to shape the sound. But when it comes to EQ-ing the highs and mids, there still was always some harshness introduced, not so with the 9000J, harshness has gone forever! For the first time I dare to boost more than I ever did before, you just want to push it and you can push it and it delivers in a very musical way. This is the one plugin you really need and you can throw away lots of others, haha... no there's always a specific thing you can do with every single plugin. So there you have it, I'm out of here, back to listen...to the 9000J!

I used the SSL 9000 J for the first time this week. OH! Boy!......this is really fantastic. I am using it for trying to remaster my extensive vinyl library. It has that studio quality sound that I haven't found in other plugins. I love it. I use it with other PA plugins to really get my old monaural and stereo recordings to sound modern and up to date. I've been lucky enough to beta test for Plugin Alliance, so I've been using this SSL strip for a while already. To my ears, it's like a cleaner and faster kind of sound than the SSL G and at the same time it's more musical and smoother than the SSL E. I've done countless comparisons between all SSL strips from Plugin Alliance and I really start to feel like this is my new go-to SSL strip. Where I used to be someone who mixed up the SSL G and E in my mixes, I now feel like I'm perfectly fine with just the SSL J. Thanks PA!!

I have been using this plugin for a few weeks now, and all I can say is "I love it!!!!" I really love the compressor on this unit. It really shined on snare; as well I love the expander / gate section. I use the expander more often than the gate. The EQ section really clean which is what I want since I am coloring on the front end with the analog gear that I use when tracking. Of course the TMT feature is just icing on the cake for me!!! Another home run from Brainworx and PA!!!
